  • Job Description

    This Full Time position is for a Front Office/Medical Assistant within our Cardiology office. This position is responsible for assisting providers and manages clinical functions in the department. Must be willing to travel between Wesley Chapel and Land O Lakes. Candidates must have Medical Assistant experience.

    Responsibilities

     

    • Completes the start of day processes
    • Properly room patients
    • Takes and records vitals
    • Assists provider during examination and with treatment
    • Performs diagnostic studies and treatments as ordered by the provider
    • Performs EKGs as needed
    • Enters charges for services rendered by the medical assistant
    • Processes medication requests per provider
    • Handles medication refill requests
    • Obtains prescription overrides and prior authorization when needed
    • Manages clinical tasks
    • Handles patient calls:
    • Distributes, reviews, and teaches patient education
    • Organizes and maintains sample and supply closets
    • Assists provider with completion of forms requested by patients
    • Prepares charts
    • Completes the end of day processes

    Requirements

    Job Qualifications:

    • High School Diploma or GED equivalent
    • Completion of Medical Assistant program
    • Strong team player
    • Basic computer proficiency
    • Strong customer service orientation
    • Must be able to multi-task
    • Must have experience working in a fast paced environment
    • Must be willing to travel between Wesley Chapel and Land O Lakes
    • Medical Assistant experience required

    Physical and Mental Demands:

    • Physical requirements
      • Able to stand or walk for long periods
      • Use of proper body mechanics
    • Normal concentration and normal complexity of decision making
    • High level verbal and written communication skills
    • Above average ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously

     

    Occupational Exposure:

    • High risk exposure to bloodborne pathogens and chemical hazards
