  • Job Description

    The Audiology Department in Tampa is seeking a Full Time Audiology Assistant to work Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM-5:00 PM. This position manages all traffic at the front check in window and assits Audiologist as needed. Travel to the Land O Lakes office is required. Candidates should have medical front office experience.

    Responsibilities

    • Prepares e-chart prior to visit
    • Prints encounter form, demographic verification form (DVF), other necessary forms per patient
    • Verifies eligibility of insurance
    • Ensures referral is present if needed
    • Assist traffic at front window
    • Manages sign in sheets
    • Schedules appointments
    • Completes patient check in processes
    • Collects and processes monies due
    • Collects patient balance dues
    • Balances journal and locks it
    • Addresses Intergy tasks in a timely manner
    • Answers phones and assists callers
    • Assists provider during examination and with treatment
    • Performs diagnostic studies and treatments as ordered by the provider
    • Performs audiogram studies and  records them in IEHR
    • Obtains consents
    • Cleans and sterilizes instruments and medical equipment
    • Handles patient calls:
    • Returns messages
    • Notifies patients of test results and instructions from provider
    • Schedules follow up appointments
    • Makes follow up calls to check on patients post screening as indicated by provider or office protocol
    • Triages patient calls and needs
    • Distributes, reviews, and teaches patient education
    • Scans all medical record documentation into IEHR utilizing company approved cataloguing system
    • Perform incidental duties as needed

    Requirements

    • High School Diploma or GED equivalent
    • Strong customer service orientation
    • Excellent telephone etiquette
    • Strong team player
    • Basic computer proficiency
    • Medical front office experience highly preferred
    • Must be willing to travel to the Land O Lakes office as needed

    Physical and Mental Demands:

    • Normal physical ability; able to sit for long periods
    • Normal concentration and normal complexity of decision making
    • High level verbal and written communication skills
    • Above average ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously

     

    Occupational Exposure:

    • Low risk exposure to bloodborne pathogens and chemical hazards
